Well, another meeting is in the books. Our September meeting was held at Tony’s Rock Yard. It was well attended, and everyone had a great time. The weather was perfect, and the food and friendships were great. We will be back to Tony’s next year.

There will be no more trips planned for August and September. We are always looking for trip ideas, so if you have any ideas, please let us know.

The rockhounding trip to Texas Springs (actually Opal Springs) is behind us. Members Mike, Brian, Curtis and Pete showed up a 6:30 am to beat the heat. It was a great day but ended up getting quite hot around 10 am when we decided to call it quits.

Rockhounding trip to Challis, ID is now in the past. We had an excellent time. Most of us were up for at least 3 days and some were up for 5 days. We toured much of the area, found lots of rocks, saw lots of wildlife and had great conversations around a campfire. Members that came were Jon, Mike, Brian, Curtis, Liz (with son and daughter), and Pete and Jan. We camped at Deer Gulch CG on the Salmon River. Weather was perfect.

Don’t forget our upcoming field trip to Challis, ID this coming weekend. (June 29). Come up for the day or overnight. Some of us will be up on June 26. Bring tent or camper, your choice! There is also a trip planned on July 13 to Jackpot, Nevada. For more information, see the members only page or post your question on our Facebook page. Link can be found on the home page.

There was a very good turnout for the Boise, Caldwell and Magic Valley clubs get together at Tony’s Rock Yard. It was sunny but very windy. There was lots of food and good company.

The 74th Rock and Gem show was a great success. Jon, the club treasurer, informed us that our profit this year was over nine thousand dollars. If you have any show related expenses, please get the receipts to Jon immediately. You have 30 days from the date of the receipt to get reimbursed. After the 30 days, all we can say is thank you for the donation. So, get those receipts turned in. Thank you to all that helped out.
